Naked Deli lands at Glasgow Airport

Naked Deli lands at Glasgow Airport

The first Naked Deli venture outside of North East of England has opened at Glasgow Airport.

The popular North East healthy food chain landed at the airport this week and passengers are tucking into the venue’s delicious range of fresh juice smoothies, superfood salads, sandwiches and vegan cakes.

Founded in 2014 by Kirstie Kimmins and cousins Chris and Ian Jones, Naked Deli has four stores in the North East area of England. The deal to open at Glasgow follows a successful 12 months of trading at Newcastle Airport.

Naked Deli Glasgow, which is based in the main departures area of the airport, is expected to support eight jobs locally and a further four at the company’s base in Gosforth.

Glasgow Airport’s Naked Deli will offer a fantastic range of grab-and-go options for customers. Its menus cater for specialist diets, including vegan, dairy free and gluten free options. Environmental awareness is another key area for the brand, with all take-out meals packaged in recyclable materials.

Denise Gilmour, Head of Retail at Glasgow Airport, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Naked Deli to the airport. It’s a fantastic brand and I’m positive the company’s ‘clean, healthy and nutritious’ ethos on clean eating and food provenance will be very popular with our passengers."

“The food is absolutely delicious and Naked Deli’s freshly-prepared products destroy the myth that you have to sacrifice flavour in order to eat something that’s both tasty and nutritious."

“I was also really impressed with Naked Deli’s commitment to ensuring all of the products on offer at the airport venue will use bio-degradable packaging."

“As a responsible business, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and we do this by working with our catering partners to offer a number of re-usable and recyclable solutions as part of our own drive to reduce waste the airport.”

Naked Deli’s Kirstie Kimmins said: “We are extremely excited to bring the Naked Deli to Glasgow Airport. Our mission is to bring our unique brand of clean, healthy and nutritious foods, drinks and treats to major cities across the UK, so we’re chuffed to bits that passengers at Glasgow Airport will be the first outside of the North East of England to try our delicious, freshly-prepared produce.”
