M898 South of Erskine Bridge Works Revised

M898 South of Erskine Bridge Works Revised

Plans to resurface the M898 south of Erskine Bridge this weekend have been amended.

Due to concerns relating to trunk road disruption close to the Christmas shopping period and over the cup final weekend, resurfacing works planned on the M898 for this weekend will now be restricted to overnights only.

A revised programme of works will now be scheduled for weekend OVERNIGHTS ONLY, including:

8pm Friday 30th November to 6am Saturday 1st December

8pm Saturday 1st December to 6am Sunday 2nd December

8pm Sunday 2nd December to 6am Monday 3rd December

Paul Lynch, Scotland TranServ’s Network Manager added:

“Under this revised schedule, Scotland TranServ will implement a reduced treatment plan, resurfacing those carriageway defects most urgently in need of repair. At a later date more deeply affected parts of the M898 southbound carriageway will require a fuller treatment.

“To address these defects a weekend closure will be necessary at a time more convenient to stakeholders, communities, businesses and the events calendar. We will continue to consult with local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders to ensure this important programme of work is completed as quickly and safely as possible.”
