Norwegian is expanding its winter programme in Northern Norway with the launch of a new direct service between Glasgow Airport and Tromsø, one of the Arctic's most popular winter destinations.

The new route will commence on 11 December 2026 and operate twice weekly throughout the winter season.

The service will make it easier than ever for travellers from Scotland to experience the spectacular Arctic winter in Northern Norway.

Flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays, making the route ideal for both long weekends and extended winter breaks.

Chris Tibbett, Executive Director – Commercial Aviation & Marketing, AGS Airports Ltd, said: "We are delighted to welcome Norwegian's new direct service between Glasgow and Tromsø, further strengthening Scotland's connectivity with Norway and opening up exciting new travel opportunities for our passengers.

"Tromsø has become one of Europe's most sought-after winter destinations, renowned for its spectacular Arctic landscapes, Northern Lights experiences and unique outdoor adventures. This new route will make it easier than ever for travellers from across Scotland to experience everything the region has to offer.

"We are proud of our partnership with Norwegian and look forward to supporting the success of this service when it launches in winter."

"This new route between Glasgow and Tromsø strengthens the connection between Scotland and Northern Norway," said Magnus Thome Maursund, Chief Commercial Officer at Norwegian.

"We're seeing growing interest from Scottish travellers looking for authentic Arctic winter experiences, for witnessing the Northern Lights to whale watching and exploring the stunning landscapes of Northern Norway. This new service makes those experiences more accessible than ever."
