New chair of Glasgow Airport's FlightPath Fund Bob Grant who takes over from Archie Hunter
Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund has awarded more than £100,000 to community groups and charities across Renfrewshire, Glasgow, and East and West Dunbartonshire during 2025, supporting a wide range of projects that make a real difference locally.
The fund, which focuses on employment, education and environmental sustainability provided grants to more than 40 organisations this year.
Beneficiaries included:
- Ocean Trust (£4,500) for marine conservation initiatives.
- PAGGS (Paisley and District Scouts with Girl Guiding Paisley) (£5,300) supporting youth development.
- Woodlands Primary School Parent Council (£5,000) for outdoor learning resources.
- Renfrewshire Carers Centre (£4,800) for its Study Buddies programme helping young carers access tutoring and technology.
- I Am Me (£4,370) promoting inclusion and safety in communities.
Other recipients ranged from hospices and mental health charities to sports clubs and local schools, including St Vincent’s Hospice, Rainbow Buddies, Young Enterprise Scotland, and Creatovators CIC, reflecting the fund’s commitment to improving lives across the region.
The FlightPath Fund also welcomed a new Chair this year. Bob Grant, Chief Executive of Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, succeeds Archie Hunter, who led the committee since its inception in 2010.

Earlier this year, the FlightPath Fund celebrated a major milestone by surpassing £2 million in donations since its launch in 2010.
Over the past 15 years, the fund has supported more than 870 community groups and charities across Renfrewshire, Glasgow, and East and West Dunbartonshire, reflecting Glasgow Airport’s long-standing commitment to helping local communities thrive.
The FlightPath Fund was also recently recognised by the Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce with the Community Wealth Building Award at the 2025 Rocco Awards.
Archie Hunter, former chair of the FlightPath Fund said: “It has been a privilege to serve as Chair of the FlightPath Fund since its inception. Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible impact the fund has had on local communities. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and confident the fund will continue to thrive under Bob’s leadership.”

Passengers also play a vital role in supporting the fund, with £8,100 raised in 2024 through donation globes in the terminal.
Applications for the first round of 2026 funding will open in January.
