25 March 2026
We re-ran the Forum which took place in November due to cancellations of attendees on the day. We reviewed the original data and provided a final update on the contract mobilisation to the new provider which will take place on 1st April 2026. The minutes can be found here.
20-21 February & 9 March 2026
The second trial took place with CPC and from the trial and feedback from passengers. We have agreed to work further with this developer and hopefully a further trial later on in the year.
16 February 2026
The first of two trials with CPC and independent solution providers took place. They spent the day trialling the solution and obtaining feedback from passengers.
27 January 2026
We joined with Aberdeen Airport in our second NHS PRM forum of the reporting year. Various issues were discussed including difficulty on island users travelling to GLA and use of the Aviramp. This was taken offline and raised further with Loganair and NHS.
12 December 2025
We met with CPC to formalise the trials and agree timescales and dates for the two winning proposals.
4 & 5 December 2025
We took part in the review of several proposals and presentations for CPC on innovation and solutions aimed at passengers travelling with hidden disabilities. These shortlisted solutions were narrowed down to two proposals, and these will now be taken forward for trails at Glasgow Airport.

17 September 2025
The new airside seating hosted assistance area was introduced and will be reviewed ongoing for the next few months. Initial feedback on location and use is very positive.
16 September 2025
I am Me delivered the relaunch of their disability confident initiative to our nominated disability champions and trainers. The new training will then be rolled out to all staff.
10 & 11 September 2025
CPC on site carrying out surveys with staff from GLA, our assistance provider OCS, and various airlines and handling agents as well as passengers throughout the journey to find out more details on the barriers that impede a better assistance provision for passengers with hidden disabilities. This work will be used to set the remit of the next stage of the process where SMEs will be engaged to trial solutions and any innovation.
21 August 2025
We met with Hello Lamp Post (HLP)to look at further improvements to the PRM workflow make it easier for users to obtain the information required to obtain assistance on the day if not already booked.
20 August 2025
Final review of proposed layout and location for PRM airside desk the location was deemed the best solution after all consultation and work will now progress to install IT, service and furniture.
21 July 2025
We took part in a survey interview with CPC to investigate roadblocks to providing a better service to passengers with hidden disabilities. This would allow CPC to set the criteria and targeted improvements for their engagement with SMEs to complete proposals for any further proposed trials.

We met with CPC Living Labs who were looking to work with us in trailing some more innovation in and around the PRM provision at airports. We agreed to meet later on in the year and facilitate some surveying of passengers and staff site at GLA and in particular those passengers with hidden disabilities.

We took part in another working session for the DfT Aviation Task and Finish working group.

We met with Loganair to look at the proposed CHAS flight to accommodate accessibility for the intended passengers and how to best provide the assistance, stand locations etc.

We worked with Aberdeen Airport to hold a joint forum with NHS, Loganair and service users. NHS transport passengers for medical care from the islands to both airports and a high proportion of Loganair’s passengers will use this service through GLA and ABZ. The meeting was very beneficial to discuss areas where improvements can me made to make the journey easier for all. A further meeting has been planned for later in the year. 10 April 2025

We met with our first user working with Bravehound to familiarise both the owner and dog of the passenger and PRM journey, and the assistance that we can provide if needed. It was a very successful visit and following the day, the owner has now booked his first flight. We look forward to seeing both again on the day of travel and hope this will lead to many more journeys.

We facilitated a visit and tour of the airport terminal and passenger journey, with a group from National Autistic Society (NAS). The group wanted to interview staff and film parts of the journey seeing what assistance was available to passengers in preparation for a documentary they are making around accessibility nationally.

We joined the Airport and Airline Accessibility Workshop led by the CAA. This is part of ongoing work to improve performance, and the service provided to passengers requiring special assistance.

We met and helped out with another of the user group events locally. This was attended by several local groups who are part of the wider user group of Alzheimer Scotland.

We met with TUI and the ground handler to review the summer 20204 operation and discussed on-time performance, PRM provision and any delays and issues throughout the season. Some discussions around the PRM vehicle access. All agreed that the meeting was constructive and looking forward to another successful summer in 2025. Further planning meetings will take place in March 2025.

Glasgow Airport has been invited by the UK Government to join a new expert group that aims to “break down barriers” to air travel for disabled passengers.
Chaired by Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, the new Aviation Accessibility Task and Finish Group was launched on 7 November by UK Transport Secretary, Louise Haigh. It will bring together industry and consumer rights advocates to improve aviation accessibility, empower consumers and improve industry standards.
Paul Scott, Glasgow Airport’s Terminal Assurance Manager, will join the group which will run in partnership between industry and consumers and look at tackling the biggest barriers to air travel for disabled passengers. The taskforce will also include presenter Sophie Morgan, co-founder of global disability group Rights on Flights and pioneering campaigner for improved aviation accessibility.

We met with Alzheimer Scotland in preparation for our PRM forum on 30 October to review agenda and information needed.

Following on from passenger feedback. We engaged with our local Dementia advisor from Alzheimer Scotland to review the information provided on our website. We have taken onboard all feedback and drafted a new guidance document for review. Once approved we will have it designed and published and uploaded to the site.

As part of our PRM tender process, all participating suppliers presented their proposed solution for the provision of the Special Assistance Service at
Glasgow. This included members of our own PRM forum, as well as representatives from both Aberdeen and Southampton.

We met with Renfrewshire Access panel as part of our regular engagement and prepare for engagement with the wider community as part of our ongoing PRM (Assistance Service Provision) tender.

We visited a local group in Bishopton, the Chit Chat group who had reached out to us to come and give their members an overview of the assistance at the airport and how it works and can be booked. Around 40 users attended the talk and we obtained some valuable feedback.

We met with Alzheimer Scotland and our local dementia advisors as part of our ongoing engagement, and in preparation for consultation as part of our current PRM contract tender.

We joined an online demonstration for Accessible Travel Solutions for Deaf Travelers, presented by Signapse. They provided an overview of the barriers to travel for deaf passengers and demonstrated their augmented reality solutions currently on trial. We have already met with Signapse earlier in the year as part of our ongoing innovation trials.

We hosted a site visit for Easyjet special assistance team. They walked the passenger journey to better understand the service at Glasgow, and see if their similar trends across the network, and where possible to share best practice.

As part of Dementia awareness week, we facilitated a stall within the main check-in area, as a a drop in and chat for those passengers and staff who may have worries about family members or others who may have or show signs of Dementia, and to raise further awareness.

Following the NHS Ostomate group visit, we were asked to attend the Glasgow user group and give the similar talk and presentation for their users. We have offered to do similar talks in the future as new users change through the group.

We met with NHS Ostomate support group at Stobhill Hospital, to help new users in the group, and explain the PRMS services and help we are able to provide. This is the second time we have visited the user group and following the first visit we have enabled several of the group to travel with assistance.

We held our first PRM forum of the year with our forum members and reviewed the service provision provided year to date including our performance measures against our SLAs and KPIs, as well as other work carried out within the year. Minutes of the Forum can be found here.
21 March 2024
We have invited the Renfrewshire Access Panel (RAP) to attend and visit the proposed new public car park along with the plans to the changes. This will help us to ensure that nothing has been missed in the project and that all requirements have been fulfilled to ensure that this car park is fully accessible before it is put into use. We will also share the report or any actions at the next PRM forum in April.
