Extra flights ensure passengers enjoy even more city breaks between Glasgow and Dublin

Extra flights ensure passengers enjoy even more city breaks between Glasgow and Dublin

Glasgow Airport passengers travelling to and from Dublin can now enjoy even more choice following Aer Lingus Regional’s decision to introduce an extra flight on Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays.

The Irish carrier already operates three services seven days a week from Glasgow and the additional flights will boost capacity on the Dublin route by 12%.

The announcement from Aer Lingus Regional is good news for both business and leisure travellers and has been timed to compliment onward connections to popular North American destinations including New York, Boston and Chicago.

Flight times for this additional Glasgow Dublin service are as follows:

Dublin to Glasgow – departs 11.55

Glasgow to Dublin – departs 13.10

Glasgow Airport’s business development manager Paul White said: “This significant increase in what is a hugely popular service is fantastic news for passengers travelling between both Glasgow and Dublin for business purposes or visitors looking to enjoy a city break in each destination.

“The addition of this service also guarantees greater choice and flexibility for passengers making onward connections to 13 North American destinations from Dublin.

“The Republic of Ireland’s capital city remains one of our busiest routes with thousands of passengers making the short trip across the Irish Sea. Likewise, Glasgow continues to be a very popular destination for Irish visitors, so this latest announcement from Aer Lingus Regional is very welcome news indeed.”

Commenting on the announcement, Graeme Buchanan, Managing Director of Aer Lingus Regional franchise partner Stobart Air which will operate the service, said “We are delighted to offer a more frequent service on our Glasgow Dublin route.

“This is a popular route from both cities but is particularly beneficial for passengers travelling from Glasgow, via Dublin, and on to the US as they can save time by availing of the Dublin preclearance service.”
