Glasgow Airport secures hat-trick of awards

Glasgow Airport came out on top at the Glasgow Business Awards, which were held on Thursday 6 October, after it scooped a hat-trick of awards including Most Outstanding Business.

The airport was in the running for two awards – Excellence in Customer Service and Best Performing Business (51 employees and over). Not only did it win both, Glasgow Airport was also named the Bank of Scotland Most Outstanding Business – the most prestigious accolade of the evening.

The judges commended the airport on its efforts in route development, its continued investment and its commitment to customer service. Over the course of the past two years, Glasgow has secured over 50 new routes and services including direct flights to major European cities such as Bordeaux, Milan, Prague and Bucharest.

The awards follow Glasgow's success at being named Scottish, UK and European airport of the year. It is also on course to record its busiest year on record during what is its 50th anniversary year.

Scott McKerracher, Area Director, Glasgow & West of Scotland at Bank of Scotland said: "Yet again, The Glasgow Business Awards have presented an excellent showcase of the health, vibrancy and diversity of Glasgow and the West of Scotland's business community.

"A big congratulations to Glasgow Airport on winning the Bank of Scotland Award for Most Outstanding Business. It's great to see such an integral part of the city's offering and connectivity receive recognition for its success and continuing valuable contribution to the region's bright economic outlook."

The Glasgow Business Awards Ceremony and Dinner is firmly established as the highlight of the Glasgow business calendar. Attracting high profile industry support and involvement, the awards offer Glasgow businesses the opportunity to promote major achievements and celebrate success.
