Glasgow Airport and beyond

Glasgow Airport and beyond

Your flight has landed at Glasgow Airport, you’ve picked up your bags, but how do you get to where you need to go next?

Walk outside of the terminal and you’ll find a rank of airport taxis. These are white-coloured cars that you can jump in without booking and there’s a Customer Service Ambassador who will help you start the next leg of your journey. If you’ve pre-booked a taxi with one of the other local taxi firms they pick up in either Car Park 2 across from the main terminal or the new purpose-built pick-up/drop-off zone next to Car Park 2.

Black Hackney-style cabs such as Glasgow Taxis pick-up in Car Park 2 and all other providers including Network, Hampden and Uber should be booked to pick-up in the main pick-up/drop-off area. They can advise which zone they will collect you from.

If you’re travelling first class with Emirates or with pre-booked Emirates chauffeur services, you’ll be picked up in Car Park 2.

If you’d rather take a bus, several services run from outside the terminal directly into Glasgow city centre, terminating at Buchanan Street Bus Station, as well as routes to Paisley Gilmour Street train station, servicing the South West of Scotland from Greenock to Stranraer. Buses also run to popular destinations farther afield including Oban, Fort William, Skye and St. Andrews.

The Glasgow Airport Express (operated by FirstBus) to Buchanan Street runs up to every 10 minutes. You can view a full list of services to and from the airport here.

If you’re being picked-up by a friend or relative you’ve got a few options: if they’re planning on meeting you in the terminal it’s best if they use Car Park 2, where they can stay for up to one hour for £6. Or, if they’re picking you up without coming in to the terminal, they can use the main pick-up/drop-off area. It designed to be used for people who are ready to be picked up and there is a charge of £2 for up to 10 minutes to make sure traffic keeps moving. Ask whoever is picking you up to have a look at our online arrivals information here so they can see if there are any delays.

There’s a half hour of free parking at the long stay car-park on Arran Drive, a few minutes from the terminal, so drivers can use this as a holding area until passengers have collected their luggage. There’s a free shuttle bus from the car park to the terminal every 10-15 minutes too.

If you require any more assistance or information on taking the next step on your journey after arriving at Glasgow, speak to our staff or say hello on social media - @GLA_Airport on Twitter, and Glasgow Airport on Facebook.
