Noise and blight assistance schemes

Read the press release

BAA Glasgow has now published details of two schemes designed to protect the local area from property blight, arising from the Government’s proposals for a possible new runway at Glasgow Airport.

The Government’s 2003 White Paper, The Future of Aviation, recommended that land be reserved for long term development of Glasgow Airport to allow for a possible second runway. This is the area covered by the first scheme: the Property Market Support Bond.

A second scheme, the Home Owner Support Scheme, has also been announced. This will assist property owners in the area who would be newly exposed to medium to high noise levels should a second runway receive the go ahead.

BAA Glasgow is also developing plans to address existing daytime noise issues. These will be published shortly.
