Glasgow Airport was the first in the world to introduce 100% hold luggage screening.
Thomas Cook increases number of based aircraft at Glasgow Airport
Thomas Cook have confirmed they will base an additional aircraft at Glasgow Airport this summer.
The move brings the total number of aircraft based at Glasgow to six, with 29 destinations on offer.
These include traditionally popular hotspots such as the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus and Malta.
For those keen to try the Eastern Med or North Africa, holidays and flights to Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia are also available this summer.
Long haul adventures are possible in Mexico, Dominican Republic and Florida.
Ian Derbyshire, Chief Executive Officer of Thomas Cook UK & Ireland, said: "We operate the largest charter airline programme out of Glasgow Airport and the introduction of a sixth aircraft demonstrates how important this region is to us.
"This means that more people than ever will be able to select the ideal holiday for their summer break this year."
Amanda McMillan, Managing Director of Glasgow Airport, added: "It's great news for Scottish holidaymakers that Thomas Cook have given us this additional aircraft as it shows the level of demand they are experiencing for a wide range of holiday destinations out of Glasgow Airport.

"In the meantime the Glasgow Airport team is working very hard to ensure we are ready to welcome the hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers who will pass through our doors during the busy summer months."
