Despite the current economic climate, Glasgow Airport has just announced a new service to Barcelona, one of Europe’s most cultured cities.

The new weekly service, which will be operated by Sunways Holidays, will start on 1 May until 23 October 2010.

Sunways Holidays, an independent ATOL bounded tour operator, currently operates from over twenty UK airports. The tour operator currently offers a number of holiday packages from Glasgow Airport to sunny locations such as the Costa Del Sol, Portugal and Sharm el Sheikh.

This new addition, is expected to be extremely popular with Glasgow Airport customers who do not necessarily want to spend all their time on the beach. Barcelona is a modern and dynamic city,  jam packed with things to do and places to see. The city, which has several beaches, is home to some of Europe’s most famous art galleries and museums. It is also known for its wide choice of shops, bars and restaurants. Therefore, it should be a definite hit with Glasgow Airport passengers.
