Icelandair set to return to Glasgow Airport
One of Scotland's longest serving airlines is set to return to Glasgow this autumn.
Icelandair suspended its Glasgow flights earlier this year in response to worsening economic economic conditions in Iceland.
But the airline, which has served Scotland for more than 60 years, is now making a welcome comeback.
Twice weekly flights to Iceland's stunning capital will resume on 27 August, with departures every Thursday and Sunday until 8 November.
Icelandair will also offer connections from Glasgow to its network of destinations in Canada and the US via its Reykjavik hub.
Amanda McMillan, managing director of Glasgow Airport said: "This is excellent news for anyone interested in visiting this historic and fascinating country. The strength of the pound against the Krona means that Iceland now offers real value as a city break destination. With its world class restaurants, lively nightlife and superb natural attractions, Iceland is one of the must see destinations of 2009."
* To mark the return of the route, Icelandair is offering a three night city break in Reykjavik from £299 per person, including flights and four star accommodation. For more details, go to www.icelandair.co.uk
