It is the only airport in Scotland with direct motorway access and is well served by public transport.

Travelling from Glasgow Airport into the city centre by bus is easy as there are several services that go to the main bus station – Buchanan Street – as well as other local destinations and beyond.
If you are not spending all of your time in Glasgow or you plan to travel outwith the city as soon as you arrive, you can depart from Buchanan Street to reach many popular destinations across Scotland.

The Glasgow Airport Express is Glasgow Airport's official bus service connecting the airport and the city centre in just 15 minutes.
Operated by First Glasgow, the Glasgow Airport Express runs buses up to every 10 minutes, 24/7, 364 days a year, every day except Christmas Day. With stops at key City Centre locations - Hope Street near Central Station, George Square near Queen Street Station and Buchanan Bus Station, the Glasgow Airport Express offers easy access to most popular hotels. The Glasgow Airport Express departs from stance 1 at Glasgow Airport.

How to buy your Glasgow Airport Express bus ticket:
From the driver
You can buy direct from the driver on the day of travel using cash or a credit or debit card.
Using First's mTickets app you can use your smartphone or tablet as your bus ticket. This allows you to buy tickets before you travel, any day, at any time, when you're at home, in the office or out and about, so you have them ready for when you want to get on the bus. Simply download the mTickets app, select the Glasgow Airport Express and buy your tickets. These can be stored in your phone and activated when you are ready to travel. When you have activated your ticket, simply show it to the driver when you board the service.

You can use the online portal to buy tickets online, all you need to do is select the ticket you want, make the payment and print out the booking confirmation to show to the driver.

Stagecoach Express JET Connect
The Stagecoach Express JET Connect travels direct to Fife from stance 9 (includes stops at Cumbernauld, Kincardine, Dunfermline, Halbeath P&R, Glenrothes, Cupar and St Andrews)
The Express JET Connect route X24, operated by Stagecoach East Scotland offers comfortable coach links to the East of Scotland. With journeys every hour, seven days a week between 0530 and 2230 the Express JET Connect provides a fast and frequent link to and from Glasgow Airport from Fife. Journeys stop at St Andrews, Cupar, Glenrothes, Halbeath P&R, Dunfermline, Kincardine and Cumbernauld and provide many more connections across the East of Scotland to get to Glasgow Airport.
Express JET Connect is operated by luxury coaches which feature reclining leather seats, a toilet, power sockets and free Wi-Fi on board. The coaches also have luggage lockers with plenty space for suitcases.

Visitor Information Centre
You can purchase tickets for First Bus and Citylink services with cash, credit or debit card at our visitor information centre located in the domestic arrivals area.
Other useful public transport links
If you are travelling by train, the nearest station to Glasgow Airport is Paisley Gilmour Street, which is connected to the airport by the McGill’s 757 bus service or a short taxi journey.
You can also catch the First 500 Glasgow Shuttle which will drop you off at Glasgow Queen Street or Glasgow Central Train Stations, from where you can travel to popular destinations throughout Scotland
Tickets can be purchased at any train station in Scotland or via the ScotRail website.
With excellent motorway networks and the main M8 going directly past Glasgow Airport, driving to your onward destination couldn’t be easier!
Scotland’s main motorway – the M8 – runs right past the airport, making your short drive east into Glasgow quick and easy. Similarly, if you are heading west, the route is very well sign-posted.
The M8 connects to the rest of the motorway network and is the perfect starting point for exploring Scotland.
Have you rented a car from one of Glasgow Airport’s on-site car rental operators? The car rental desks are located near to the domestic arrivals area of the airport. Here you can complete your paperwork and pick up your keys. Your rental car will be waiting in the car rental parking area facing the terminal building.
If you want to walk or cycle from Glasgow Airport, the good news is that we are connected to a local footpath network and also the National Cycle Network.
If you are walking, please be aware of your safety, and wear both reflective clothing and stout footwear.

Leaving the airport by taxi?
Remember, only official Glasgow Airport Taxis can pick you up at the terminal doors. If you are travelling with another taxi firm, you will be picked up at the official pick up point in Car Park 2 which is directly opposite the main terminal building.
There is no need to pre-book your Official Glasgow Airport Taxi when you are leaving the airport as there are taxis available 24 hours a day.
