Meeting points

Where to meet

There is no official meeting point inside the terminal building.

You will find public seating in both the domestic and international arrivals areas.

A good place to meet would be First Stop Cafe Bar in international arrivals or in domestic arrivals you have the choice between Starbucks and The Sandpiper, a JD Wetherspoon Pub.

Meeting someone from a flight

Before you leave

If you're meeting someone at the airport, check the flight is on time before you leave using our live flight arrivals page.

You can stay informed on the way to the airport, too – use our Flying Messenger service to have flight status updates sent to your mobile phone.

For directions to the airport by car, train or bus, visit our to and from the airport section.

Picking up at the airport

If you are catching a bus or airport licensed taxi then these vehicles collect passengers on the main forecourt area directly outside the terminal building. If you are collecting a friend or relative you should wait for them in Car Park 2, where it is £1.50 for up to 10 minutes. For more information on picking up click here.

If you need longer, use the Short Stay Car Parks.

In the terminal

Information screens in the arrivals areas display live flight status information. The status message may be:

  • Expected: The flight hasn't landed yet – you've time for coffee or a spot of shopping.
  • Landed: The flight has arrived but passengers have yet to clear passport control (where necessary) and pick up baggage.
  • Baggage in hall: Passengers should be in the arrivals area shortly.
