Airport security
All passengers must pass through security control after check-in and before entering the departure lounge at Glasgow Airport.
Security update
Religious and cultural headgear
New regulations issued by the Department for Transport now make it possible to security screen religious and cultural headgear by alternative means. From 14 February 2011, if you’re selected for a search using our normal processes, you can opt for any headgear worn for religious or cultural reasons to be screened by the use of security technology as an alternative to being hand searched.
Travel to the USA
Passengers travelling to the United States should expect their airline to carry out additional security checks prior to boarding.
To support this important process and keep delays to a minimum, we would advise passengers to check the relevant airline website or call the airline for specific advice before travelling to the airport, arrive promptly at check-in, and limit the amount of baggage being taken on board the aircraft.
If in any doubt, please contact the relevant airline for further information.
