Our plans in full

From Tuesday June 8 we are changing the way passengers and motorists access Glasgow Airport. You will start to see changes in the forecourt area from that date.

Passenger drop-off

The passenger drop-off zone will relocate from its temporary home in the ground floor of the multi-storey car park to a new purpose built facility, a short walk from international arrivals and check-in. A canopy will link the new drop-off zone directly to the main terminal.

All private vehicles, Renfrewshire Council taxis, Glasgow TAO taxis and private hire taxis should use this facility for the purposes of passenger drop-off.

Flight information screens will provide live updates on all departing and arriving flights, and help points will be available for any passenger in need of assistance.

Passenger pick-up

Private motorists

Passenger pick-up will revert to the system in place before the 2007 terrorist attack, with waiting motorists being directed to Car Park 1. This change will affect anyone wishing to pick up friends or family. Motorists must not park and wait at the drop off-zone.

Pre-booked taxi pick-up

Pre-booked taxis, including private hire and Glasgow registered ‘black cabs’, will pick up from a new dedicated facility in the ground floor of the multi-storey car park (Car Park 2).

The minimum charge for both Car Park 1 and Car Park 2 is £1.

Public transport buses & shuttle buses

Arriva, First and Scottish CityLink buses, as well as long-stay car park shuttle buses, will continue to pick-up and drop-off from the main forecourt, in front of the terminal building, and are unaffected by these changes.

Private coaches

Private coaches will continue to pick-up and drop-off using Bute Road, and are unaffected by these changes.

Passengers with reduced mobility

Disabled passengers (blue badge holders) will continue to enjoy free drop-off and pick-up from the ground floor of the multi-storey car park, directly opposite the terminal. Car park tickets should be taken to the customer service desk within the car park for validation giving up to 30 minutes free access. Drivers will be asked to produce a blue badge before the ticket is validated. Help points are available within the car park for anyone in need of assistance.

Other useful information

Car Park 2

The temporary drop-off / pick-up zone in the ground floor of Car Park 2 will close from Tuesday June 8. Passengers should only access the multi-storey car park if they wish to park there. A new entrance to the multi-storey car park will also open and passengers using it will no longer have to follow the same route used by vehicles that are dropping off or picking up.

St Andrew’s Drive

The secondary drop off point on St Andrew’s Drive is being transformed into a dedicated cycle route as part of a project to improve provision for cyclists around the airport. Motorists will no longer be able to pick-up or drop-off in this area.
